ADWD and Rape- no spoilers
I am not a fan of cuts in personal journals for subject matter- it is a personal journal and one should be able to post what they would like in their journal, but I'll bend my own rule and use one here...
After seeing several blogs and posts that complain about the amount of rape in ADWD, I went in forewarned and by the warnings, was expecting a rape or two every other page. I am now over a quarter of the way through the book (pg. 463 out of 1000 some odd pages) and I have yet to encounter a rape. I will reserve judgment upon those folks who warn of this rampant rape until I finish the next 600 or so pages because who knows especially with GRRM, maybe all of it takes place in the latter half of the book. Up until the point I encounter all of it, despite reserving judgement, I will be wondering if all the folks who were expounding up on it have even read the book, or were just mouthing off because of the book's reputation and the amount of rape that has happened in the series thus far. *shrugs*
